The Church of God Division of Education recently received a letter of affirmation for the Hispanic Bible Institutes from Lee University. In an official letter to Director De Jesús, Lee University’s Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Debbie Murray stated, “We recognize and appreciate the steps you have taken to assure academic rigor and the quality of faculty in the Hispanic Bible Institutes under your purview.” Dr. Murray went on to say, “In light of your attention to these areas, we would like to offer the same agreement of equivalency for the English-centered MIP to the registered Hispanic Bible Institutes under the Hispanic Department of Education.”
People for Care and Learning (PCL), an independent benevolent organization with roots in the Church of God, is closing in on the end of Phase II of their “Build A City” project in Andong, outside the capital city of Phnom Penh.
A new record in Bible translation may have been set in 2014 for the highest number of new Scripture translations published in one year. According to the 2014 Global Scripture Access Report, published this week by United Bible Societies, last year Bible Societies helped complete translations in 51 languages spoken by more than 1.3 billion people (1.2 billion Chinese speakers and 146 million speakers of other languages.)
