A Hawaii court has dismissed two churches from a lawsuit that two atheists brought against five congregations in the Aloha State. Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys represent the two churches, One Love Ministries and Calvary Chapel Central Oahu, which the atheists falsely accused of defrauding the government.
I remember a scene from our family story during our early days of missionary service. As a young family in our first term, my wife and I were determined that we would involve our two-year old toddler in family Bible reading and prayer every night before bedtime. “Little Man” was my designated nickname for him, used most everywhere we went. January 6, 2014–Cleveland, TN—For the second consecutive year, a live Bible reading is taking place at the Church of God International Offices in Cleveland, Tennessee. The multi-day event began at 6:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) this morning and marks the kick-off to the 2014 READ Initiative, a program to encourage reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelation in 2014.
It is hard to imagine that something of the following nature could take place, but it did: An 18-year-old has been charged in the brutal rape and beating of a 70-year old nun in the United Sates (reported on December 13, 2013). According to the report, she was walking in a parking lot behind the church when she was approached by a man who choked her, punched her, then threw her to the ground where she was assaulted and raped.
