The Brownsville Assembly of God in Florida’s Panhandle was home to the Brownsville Revival for six years. It saw countless healings and miracles in the mid- to late-1990s, but the church is currently struggling to survive as it is entangled in a large debt.
Speaking at the Rally For Religious Freedom last Friday, pro-life advocate Rev. Jim McGarvey of Church for Life, told the crowd, “…two Biblical mandates…should guide our prayers and response” to the Obama administration’s recent Health and Human Services mandate.
Churches suffered from plummeting donations after the recession began in 2008. But in the past year, a majority of congregations experienced giving increases because of a better economy, higher attendance and more church teaching on giving.
