Live Reading Launches READ Initiative 2014

January 6, 2014–Cleveland, TN—For the second consecutive year, a live Bible reading is taking place at the Church of God International Offices in Cleveland, Tennessee. The multi-day event began at 6:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) this morning and marks the kick-off to the 2014 READ Initiative, a program to encourage reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelation in 2014.

Acts of Violence on Church Property a Real Threat

It is hard to imagine that something of the following nature could take place, but it did: An 18-year-old has been charged in the brutal rape and beating of a 70-year old nun in the United Sates (reported on December 13, 2013). According to the report, she was walking in a parking lot behind the church when she was approached by a man who choked her, punched her, then threw her to the ground where she was assaulted and raped.
