The daily schedule for Music Explosion will emphasize breakout workshop sessions, as well as general sessions offering teaching, modeling and mentoring for local church musicians. Larry Horrell, Coordinator of Music Ministries for the Church of God, stated, “Music Explosion has historically distinguished itself with an emphasis on teaching, while similar conferences have placed greater emphasis on previewing new music. Expanding this in 2012, we plan to offer more than sixty sessions over two days for attendees to choose from and personalize their own experience.”
SpiritSound Music Group, the trademark under which the Church of God’s music publishing efforts are conducted, will present new worship and choral music along with several other invited publishers. A significant change for Music Explosion 2012 is the lower cost of registration at just $99 per individual. Groups of five or more may attend for only $79 per person. “Our goal this year,” said Horrell, “is to make Music Explosion essential, engaging and as economical as we can for any church to send their music personnel.”
