Christian Books Topping NYT Best-Seller’s List

The Five Love Languages, Heaven Is for Real for Kids and Real Marriage are among the No. 1 titles on the Jan. 22 New York Times best-seller lists for sales the week ending Jan. 7.

Heaven Is for Real for Kids by Todd and Colton Burpo (Thomas Nelson) reached a new milestone at No. 1 on the Children’s Picture Book list. Colton Burpo’s journey to heaven and back has reached more than 6 million people in his story’s various formats, the publisher reports. The original trade book, Heaven Is for Real, sits atop the Combined Print and E-book Nonfiction list, at No. 2 on Paperback Nonfiction and at No. 8 on Hardcover Nonfiction.

Debuting at the top of the Hardcover Advice & Misc. list is Real Marriage by Mark and Grace Driscoll (Thomas Nelson), while Andy Andrews’ How Do You Kill 11 Million People? (Thomas Nelson), which aims to show the need for truth in America—is ranked at No. 7 on the same list.

Backlist title The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman (Northfield Publishing) is still going strong, topping the Paperback Advice & Misc. list. Crazy Love by Francis Chan with Danae Yankoski (David C Cook) is No. 5 on the same list.

The Harbinger—a warning of God’s judgment to America—placed at No. 10 on the Paperback Trade Fiction and at No. 28 on the Combined Hardcover and Paperback Fiction lists. Written by Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, the FrontLine/Charisma House book released Jan. 3 and has gone back to print four times, hovering in the top 10 of Amazon’s top 100 best-seller list for several days.
