Thoughts on Being A Missionary
Throughout my life I’ve often wondered what a missionary felt like. I never knew I’d be a missionary…
Glen Anniskette and I have been on the road since February trying to raise funds to do God’s work and we can see the light of home in a couple of weeks. Following is a summary of the schedule of what God’s had us up to for the last couple of weeks. We feel like missionaries.
Anchorage, Alaska received more than 11 feet of snow this year breaking the all-time record of snowfall for that area. The piles of snow around town didn’t detour the revival attendance at the North Anchorage Church of God with Bishop Tommie Shook. Attendance grew with each service and the power of God encouraged the church to continue going forward!
As a side note, teenage moose are frequently seen in Anchorage. While visiting Dowain Geesey (owner of Care Cottage) at the hospital, we spotted a sign on the entrance door that said, “use caution when entering, moose are in the area.” We saw huge moose nearly every day in town. Hundreds of moose are killed every year by motorists.
Easter Sunday morning we visited the Independence Church of God, pastored by Bishop Bob McMillian. Pastor Bob shared how the church had hosted an Easter Egg Hunt the previous day. The eggs were filled with goodies and the gospel. Children from around the area were able to take the gospel home to their parents all over town.
Revival began Easter Sunday night at the Roseburg, Oregon Church of God with Bishop Doyle Pooler. God blessed in each nightly service. Susie led the ladies devotionals each morning. The granddaughter of one of the ladies present gave her little heart to the Lord during one of the morning sessions!
One the way to begin the next revival in Kalispell, Montana with Bishop Michael Hance we dropped by and visited the Church of God in La Pine pastored by Bishop Tim & Paula Cowdell. This church was recently brought into the Church of God and is growing steadily. We’ll be returning here for a revival in August of this year.
Revival began this morning in Kalispell, Montana. God is already moving in a mighty way. Many are seeking the infilling of the Holy Ghost and we’re expecting miracles from God. I’m sure I’ll have more wonderful news to report from the Anniskette Ministries next week.
