General Assembly Deadline Fast Approaching
Delegates to the upcoming 74th Church of God International General Assembly (GA2012) in Orlando, Florida, have just a few more days to preregister. Online and mail-in registration remains open until June 18, 2012.
Preregistration is highly recommended, especially for ordained bishops who are members of the General Council. Preregistration guarantees home delivery of credentials prior to GA2012 and helps avoid potential delays during on-site registration at the Orange County Convention Center. Anyone who registers by the June 18 deadline will receive credentials in the mail approximately a week prior to the July 24-27 Assembly. Credentials will contain name badges, which are required for entry into the business sessions of GA2012. Business sessions begin on Tuesday morning, July 24, with nominations of the Executive Committee.
An item up for consideration on Tuesday morning involves potential elimination of the office of assistant youth and discipleship coordinator. Should the item be passed by the General Council, a special called session of the General Assembly will convene that afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The special session is required to affirm or negate the action and determine if the position would then be filled with a subsequent nomination from the General Council.

The General Assembly (voting body) consists of all registered delegates age 16 and older. The body has the power to affirm or vote against the actions of the General Council. In addition to the special called session (if needed), the General Assembly also meets on Friday, July 27 at 2:00 p.m. to ratify the actions of the General Council, including nominations for the executive committee. However, delegates must be registered to vote in the General Assembly. All sessions of the General Council and General Assembly will be held in the South Concourse of the Orange County Convention Center.

Instructions will prompt you toward online registration or the option to download a copy of the registration form to either mail or fax. Delegates who miss the June 18 deadline will be able to register on site at the Orange County Convention Center South Concourse beginning Monday, July 23 at 9:00 a.m.
