Free Chapel Accredited by National Financial Accountability Organization

GAINESVILLE, Ga.– ECFA announced today the accreditation of Free Chapel, a Gainesville, Ga.-based evangelical church with wide-ranging national and global impact via television broadcasts and missions outreach.

Free Chapel met each of ECFA membership accreditation guidelines, which are based on the ECFA Seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship™ that include financial accountability, transparency, sound board governance and ethical fundraising.

“We are pleased to include in our membership a church committed to winning souls for the kingdom and exalting the Lord Jesus Christ by preaching in both word and in deed through local church activities, global television broadcasts and international missions,” said Dan Busby, ECFA president.

“Free Chapel is honored to be accepted as an ECFA member,” said Jentezen Franklin, Free Chapel senior pastor. “The ECFA seal assures donors that our records and procedures have been carefully scrutinized, and that we are being fully accountable for responsible stewardship of the resources entrusted to us. This instills confidence in our mission objectives and execution as we partner together to see people enter the kingdom of God.” Franklin is an ordained bishop in the Church of God (Cleveland, Tenn.)

Free Chapel joins a growing number of Christ-centered churches and ministries across America that have earned the right to display the ECFA seal. More than 20 million donors support ECFA member ministries that include almost 1,700 churches and parachurch nonprofits. Churches and ministries accredited by ECFA have demonstrated their willingness to follow the model of biblical accountability.

Free Chapel (www.FreeChapel.org) serves metro Atlanta and Northeastern Georgia, as well as national and international audiences, through its Jentezen Franklin Media Ministries and “Kingdom Connection” television broadcasts. Founded in 1953, the ministry streams live video of its services via the Internet and engages in special global ministry, including an ongoing food relief program in Haiti and mobile medical mission along the Amazon River in Peru. Free Chapel also has a West Coast church campus in Irvine, Calif.

ECFA, founded in 1979, provides accreditation to leading Christian nonprofit organizations that faithfully demonstrate compliance with the ECFA Standards pertaining to financial accountability, fundraising and board governance.
