KENYA — Major renovations and building repurposing are underway at Discipleship College, a Church of God affiliated college in Kenya, paving the way for continuing expansion and future growth, according to a report from Gene Mills, college president.
Not only are current school buildings undergoing remodeling, but Discipleship is also looking at the possibility of building a totally new education center. While the core program of the college remains the training of ministers, the vision is expanding to include a uniquely-designed education program that will train and equip orphanage workers, Sunday school teachers, and children’s ministers for serving in the surrounding communities. Doors could be opened to build an orphanage on campus and potentially shift the nation of Kenya, through proper education of children in a practical setting.
Recently, the chapel moved to a new room where renovations are taking place to improve the space. In the building next door, demolition and remodeling has begun in preparation for the library to occupy a better and larger facility. The school will house a computer lab, thousands of books, special documents, and study space for students in the new library. Excitement and a greater enthusiasm for learning has blossomed among students and faculty since the changes on campus have taken place.
Discipleship College is growing, expanding, and improving to provide the best Christian learning environment to its students. God is at work, and Discipleship College continues to attract students eager for training.
