Youth & Discipleship Supporting Global 4/14 Day
There are 2.3 billion children on earth under age 15 and they represent the largest unreached people group in the world. Nearly 85% of people who make a decision for Christ, do so between the ages of 4 to 14.
In a response to this opportunity, a resolution was passed at the 2012 Church of God General Assembly, the last portion of which is as follows:
Therefore be it resolved that, we have come together as the Church of God to ask God to forgive us for our failure to do what we could and should do for children as His gifts from above; and, be it further resolved that, we commit ourselves and our institutions to improve and increase our efforts for the equipping, care, and mobilization of the children and their families in the 4/14 window for the holistic transformation of the world; And, be it finally resolved that, we become involved in a bold initiative, engaging and seeking to equip a new generation to transform the world by working through the power of Jesus Christ in His transformational mission to raise up a new generation from the 4/14 window to transform the world.
In conjunction with the 4/14 movement, Church of God Youth and Discipleship is encouraging churches around the world to participate in Global 4/14 Day designated for April 14, 2013.
“This will be a day of prayer and fasting for children ages 4 to 14 years,” stated Tony Lane of the Church of God Youth and Discipleship ministry. “The focus will be prayer that a new generation from the 4/14 window will be raised up to transform the world for Christ. Every child is a story yet to be told.”
Also in conjunction with the 4/14 emphasis, Church of God Youth and Discipleship is planning a series of missions trip for interested persons to visit and minister to children in the 4/14 window around the world. Windows to the 4/14 Window Missions Trips are being planned for summer and fall to international locations, including Mexico, Romania, Scotland, and Africa.
