Benefits Board Offers ECFA Manuals for Tax Season

The Benefits Board is proud to make available to our participants two separate manuals, published by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA), dealing with minister’s tax returns and financial reporting for churches. Both manuals are available without cost on the Board’s web site (www.benefitsboard.com) and may be reviewed on-line or printed for use within your church.

According to Art Rhodes, President and CEO of the Church of God Benefits Board, Inc., the Preparing Tax Returns for Clergy manual provides step-by-step instructions for ministers in filing their 2012 tax returns and includes interactive worksheets and tax forms. “Along with the Tax Information manual published by the Benefits Board, every minister should have this manual as he works on his tax return for 2012,” Rhodes stated.

The Reporting Procedures for Congregations manual assists the local church in accurately reporting financial data to its donors as well as to the federal government. This manual, combined with the Benefits Board’s manual entitled The Church as a Taxpayer, should be resource guides for all pastors and church treasurers.

The Benefits Board, the Church of God, and the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability are glad to join together to provide these free resources.
