New Training Opportunity for Christian Nonprofits in Colorado

Doers of the Word (pronounced “DOT-W”) announced they will be providing in-depth training and coaching to church and ministry leaders through a year-long program beginning this May. The training uniquely focuses on discipleship, particularly for the staff, volunteers, and donors of the organization. “It will teach leaders how to center their work and efforts around the truth and wisdom of scripture” says Rev. Eric Foley, developer of the curriculum.

Sometimes referred to as “transformational giving” because of the effect on donors and champions of a cause, DOTW’s training is based on the Whole Life Offering — how ministries, churches or individuals involved in a cause reflect Christ through their ministry. The Whole Life Offering was developed by Eric Foley over the last 20 years of working with more than 1,300 churches and Christian nonprofits, teaching them how to build volunteer and giving programs. It is currently being used with ministries in Tennessee and Michigan.

The year-long training incorporates specific topics to equip organizations in the areas where they struggle, such as: fundraising, board development, marketing, major gifts and grant writing. Each training session will be paired with a practicum to insure participants can implement the Whole Life Offering with their organization’s direct mail, marketing plans, fundraising letters and the like.

Enabling DOTW to offer this curriculum is a new partnership with Suzanne Dubois. Dubois developed training for Mission Increase Foundation’s training program directed at Christian organizations around Colorado. When Mission Increase closed their office in Colorado, it created this new opportunity. She expressed her delight in this new venture, “I’m excited to partner with Pastor Foley on this project. Working with hundreds of ministries in Colorado, I know the need for this training in our community. Many wonderful ministries with huge hearts will benefit from comprehensive training like this. It will be a mind-altering experience in ministry development. It provides great practical tools for ministry leaders to work better and smarter.”
