Cymbala, Henderson to Highlight Praying Church Conference 2013
On August 22-23, 2013, The Church at Liberty Square in Cartersville, Ga., will be the site of a gathering of pastors and prayer leaders called the Praying Church Conference. As part of the conference, The 6:4 Fellowship presents REdiscover with Daniel Henderson, a prayer service with Pastor Jim Cymbala, plus over 20 workshops and plenary sessions.
Church of God General Overseer Mark Williams has announced the next phase in the church’s prayer ministry – a focus on praying pastors. Cymbala, of the famed 10,000-member Brooklyn Tabernacle, renowned for their Tuesday night prayer service that draws some 4,000 each week, not to mention their Grammy Award- winning ‘Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir,’ will share at the conference. Henderson, Liberty University professor and National director of The 6:4 Fellowship will also speak, with a special focus on the prayer life of the pastor.
“We are going to call on God and ask Him to teach us how to make our churches houses of prayer as we trust Him to also meet each of us at our point of need. Pastors need so much encouragement these days. Together we are going to experience His grace from the word and presence of Christ,” stated Cymbala of the conference.
“The goal of the conference,” stated Dr. Doug Small, is “to involve entire state prayer and local church prayer leadership teams.”
Henderson brought prayer-based revitalization to churches where he served for more than two decades. His book, Fresh Encounters has been widely read. Today, Henderson is dedicating himself full-time to help congregations across the country experience renewal. Each year he speaks to thousands at conferences and prayer events. He is president of Strategic Renewal, which exists to ignite personal renewal, congregational revival, and leadership restoration for Christ’s glory.
While Henderson serving as senior pastor at Arcade Church in Sacramento, California, a profound movement of congregational prayer was birthed.
His first book, The 7 Most Important Questions You’ll Ever Answer was translated into 12 languages.
