Update on the Church in the Middle East

Doors are opening everywhere, and we could not be surer of God’s timing now for this part of the world.

Last weekend, my wife launched “HER” women’s ministries. HER stands for “heal, embrace, restore.” About 25 women from various ethnic backgrounds attended. She will continue these meetings on a monthly basis with the goals of encouraging women of God in their lives and faith, and how to become lights in the darkness where they live and work. Please keep my wife and these special ladies in prayer as they fulfill God’s purpose for their lives in the Middle East.

Some Unexpected Opportunities

In the last couple of weeks, a few wonderful opportunities and blessings have taken place. We had two baby dedications, a baptismal service, and met a nice family. In addition, our church’s youth ministry will be heading for a first-time historic meeting. God is opening many doors and clearing the way for His work to be done. Of course, there are many obstacles to overcome, but that only requires us to trust Him more. Please pray for His continued guidance, protection, and wisdom in knowing how to approach all these opportunities.

We All Have a Role

One thing that has become obvious living in the Middle East is that for God’s work and will to be done, it will take His whole family working together. A household functions best when each member does what he or she can. There is too much for any one person to go it alone. No matter who a person is, they have a role to play in God’s Great Commission. Some people have to get on a plane and fly around the world, while others help send them through faithful prayer and support. Regardless, they both are crucial to the Father’s work. When we all finish our work and gather around our Father’s feet in His house, it will not matter which role we had to play, but only that we did our part to build His house.

This month our budget was about $2000 short of what we needed. While this is rather discouraging, we pray and trust God to provide what is needed to make sure we do not have to return to the United States too soon. Please be in prayer for us, our account, and for the work God has sent us to do here in the Middle East.
