Two Churches Dedicated in Haiti
Two church dedication services were recently held in the Leogane District, 30 miles from Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. According to Missionary Jim Hudson, the two congregations were the Trou Julot and Dessables churches.
The reconstruction assistance was begun a year ago for Trou Julot and Dessables. At first, the project lacked the necessary manpower to rebuild, but the churches used the funds given them to hire members of the congregation.
With the help of a Men and Women of Action team led by Jeff Nootenboom and the Open Door Chapel’s pastor, James Douglas, the trusses and installation of the metal roofing was completed.
The dedication service for the two churches was held at the Trou Julot church.
“The church was full to capacity; roughly 500 people were inside and we did not count the people standing around the outside,” Hudson stated. “The atmosphere was filled with singing, praising, and the ministering of the Word. We challenged them that the church is only block, cement, metal, and wood—they are the church and their responsibilities are the children (the future of church), the work of the Kingdom, and the heartbeat of Christ (Mark 10).”
Hudson went on to say thanks to the donors, MWOA teams, and World Missions for helping he and his wife, Gina in the continual task of rebuilding in the country of Haiti.
“We especially thank you for your continued prayers and support as we labor in the work of the Lord in Haiti, Grenada, and the Caribbean as the Lord strengthens and empowers us.”
