Marcelly’s Dream Makes Major Gift
Church of God World Missions recently announced the distribution of an additional $100,000 from the Marcelly’s Dream Initiative.
Marcelly’s Dream is a global missions project that engages the church with four primary ministries, abbreviated in four words that begin with the letter “W”: Word, water, walls, and wellness.
“It continues to amaze us how the Dream has captured the hearts of our donors, who are committed to the well-being of children, missionaries, and other key personnel,” said Dr. Tim Hill, director of World Missions.
Earlier allocations from Marcelly’s Dream gifts have been made assisting People for Care and Learning, Men and Women of Action, Volunteers in Medical Missions, and well-drilling in Kenya and Zambia. Part of the funds will continue the dissemination of Bibles to children, fulfilling the “Word” aspect of the initiative. Already more than 3,500 copies of the Fire Bible, a children’s study volume, have gone to orphanages and youth camps. A second facet, the “Water” project, funds the drilling of wells, the installation of water systems, and the distribution of filters.
The “Walls” portion of funds literally builds security walls around orphanages that need them; pays for repairs to insubstantial buildings that house orphanages, schools, and churches; and provides new construction in a few situations. Under “Wellness,” gifts to Marcelly’s Dream deliver medical supplies and sponsors visits by physicians and mental health practitioners.
This week’s distribution is sent to World Missions leaders in strategic areas who will continue to oversee the allocation of the funds for the specific purposes identified by donors and Missions leadership.
