‘God’s Glory in the Marketplace’ Is Theme for Kingdom Economic Summit

Christian business and financial leaders from over a dozen nations and across the U.S. are expected to attend the 7th Annual Kingdom Economic Yearly Summit (K.E.Y.S.) Nov. 5-10, 2013 in Big Bear Lake, CA.

“God has always been concerned for and involved in the global marketplace,” said Dr. Bruce Cook, convener and co-host of K.E.Y.S. “What’s happening currently in the economies of nations is both a market correction and a marketplace reformation,” he added. “The global financial turmoil and shaking of economies, nations, markets, institutions and currencies has helped create widespread fear and a crisis of belief in many people,” he continued. “In contrast, a growing number of business men and women are turning to God, discovering prayer and Biblical principles, choosing faith over fear, and re-examining their assumptions and beliefs about finances, investing, debt, retirement and stewardship in light of current conditions,” he stated.

Patterned loosely after the World Economic Forum, but with a Christian focus and perspective, K.E.Y.S. 2013 will feature a strong lineup of 40 speakers, authors and CEOs with expertise in a variety of disciplines, industries, and economic sectors.

Serving as co-host for this year’s summit is Dr. A.L. Gill, Founder and President of Gill Ministries. “The marketplace is a key part of God’s strategy for influencing nations, affecting culture and redeeming mankind,” said Gill.

According to Proverbs 25:2, “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; the glory of kings is to search out a matter,” he added. Gill Ministries was established in 1983 and Dr. Gill has traveled to and spoken in over 80 nations during the last 50 years in ministry.

Cook is an ordained Christian minister, private investor, and business and financial consultant, and serves as President and Founder of KEYS Network, Kingdom House Publishing, and VentureAdvisers Inc., and is Managing General Partner of Kingdom Venture Partners. Previously he was Research Director for The University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO) (focused on private equity), and was a marketing communications executive for 12 years for several universities, a software company and technology incubator, and a bank manager for five years. Cook holds a PhD in Higher Education Administration from The University of Texas at Austin (1994) and wrote his dissertation on fundraising theory.
