International Executive Council in Session
Cleveland, TN–The International Executive Council of the Church of God is in session for the first of their 2014 gatherings at the International Offices.
The Council meets three times a year – January, April and September – to consider the ministries and business of the Church of God. The meetings are exceptionally critical in even numbered years as the group of 18 councilors and five Executive Committee members formulate the agenda for presentation at the biennial International General Assembly. This year the Assembly will be held on July 29 – August 1 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. The agenda will be finalized at the April session of the Council and then presented to Ordained Bishops for review.
An unexpected snowfall began just after the session began at 9:00 a.m. EST, however the Executive Council is slated to stay on site at the Leadership and Communications Center the entire day, including a working lunch and breakout committee meetings.
Per a motion passed at the 2012 General Assembly, any action taking place at this session of the International Executive Council pertaining to the agenda for the 2014 General Assembly, will be placed on the Church of God website for review.
A message from General Overseer Mark Williams prior to the opening session, as well as other updates, will be posted on the Church of God website at www.churchofgod.org.
