As a member of this committee, Cossey represents Church of God USA Missions, and replaces Dr. Orville Hagan, who was a long-standing member of the National Committee, having served since his days as International Director of Evangelism and Home Missions (now USA Missions). Dr. Wallace J. Sibley, Assistant General Overseer and Executive Director of the Division of World Evangelization, recommended Cossey, and Dr. Paul Cedar, Chairman/CEO of Mission America Coalition, made the appointment official on February 13, 2014.

Cossey and his wife, Myrlene, will represent USA Missions at the upcoming “Loving America to Christ” (LOVE2020) leadership consultation, February 17-19, 2014 at the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, North Carolina. At this meeting, several hundred evangelical leaders will gather around tables together “to discern and design strategies for mobilizing multitudes of Christ followers into an authentic prayer-care-share lifestyle. Keynote speaker for the gathering will be Leighton Ford, a patriarch of the Lausanne Movement, out of which Mission America Coalition was birthed.

The Mission America Coalition wants to see every man, woman, young person, and child in America loved by at least one follower of Jesus by the year 2020—the end of this decade.
