Adult Discipleship Introduces Next Installment in Enliven Series
Church of God Adult Discipleship Ministries has introduced a new Enliven Discipleship Study entitled, Philippians, A Path to Joy. The new resource is excellent for Sunday school, Family Training Hour, cell groups, small groups, and personal study.
“Philippians: A Path to Joy is an encouraging, ‘hands on’ approach to studying the Bible,” said David Gosnell, men’s discipleship coordinator for the Church of God. “This ten-week inductive study of Paul’s letter to the Philippians is God’s victorious answer to the fear and anxiety that plagues our world. In completing Philippians: A Path to Joy, you will come to know and experience the positive, life-changing message of God. You will realize that God not only cares about your soul, but He wants you to have healthy, life-affirming thoughts and emotions as well.”
Gosnell went on to say that the new resource is written in a highly informative yet uplifting devotional style, which keeps the practical Christian life in view every step of the way. The working theme of the entire study is that, “God wants you to live a life of joy, thanksgiving and Spirit-filled prayer. Or as Paul says, ‘Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!’ (Phil. 4:4 NIV).”
In addition, two discipleship studies and an Enliven manual are now available from Adult Discipleship: James: A Path to Discipleship and Philippians: A Path to Joy and A Pentecostal Approach to Bible Study.
The Enliven Discipleship Bible Study Series is an exciting and effective method of studying God’s Word that is completely dedicated to fulfilling the Great Commission of our Lord (Matt 28:19-20). Enliven studies the scriptures inductively whereby the student is “drawn into” a deeper understanding of the Bible. Each Bible study in the series is dedicated to the spiritual formation of the believer and highly devotional in nature. These studies are especially designed for small groups and personal study.
“Students are called upon to discover what the Bible says, discern what the scripture means, and allow Christ to transform them,” Gosnell continued. “The student will personally experience the text and encounter the Holy Spirit in the Word of God. The primary goal of the Enliven study is to help students grow spiritually as one discovers God’s Word for oneself.”
A Pentecostal Approach to Bible Study is a carefully prepared Enliven manual that supplies step-by-step instructions on how to conduct an Enliven Bible study. In A Pentecostal Approach, the student will learn what inductive Bible study is, practical tips for starting an inductive study, working example of inductive study on Mark and a suggested schedule for teaching an inductive Bible study in the local church.
Future books in the Enliven series include: Ephesians; Daniel; Romans; Colossians and Psalms.
Thomas J. Doolittle, Professor of Pastoral Ministry and chair of the Department of Christian Ministries at Lee University said, “The new inductive Bible study material being published by the Church of God Discipleship Department fills a much-needed gap in teaching resources for pastors and local congregations.”
