Filmmakers to Donate Up to 10,000 Bible Movies to International Missions

Filmmakers Fred and Sharon Wilharm announced Tuesday that they will donate up to 10,000 pre-release copies of their new movie, “The Good Book” to be used as an outreach tool for international missions. “The Good Book” is an evangelistic silent feature film about a small Bible that is passed along to fourteen strangers, dramatically impacting the lives of seven of those individuals. Because of the nature of the silent movie, the evangelistic message can cross language and cultural barriers.

“Growing up, I always thought God might call me to be a missionary,” said writer/director Sharon Wilharm. “He didn’t. Instead, He’s given me a unique way to tell the gospel and the opportunity to share it with those who He did call as missionaries. This movie has the potential to reach people and speak to them in a way that dialogue could never do.”

“What a great tool to begin discussions about the Bible and the impact it has on people’s lives!” said Florida pastor’s wife Tammy Goodman.

International missionaries will be able to screen the movie as part of W.O.W.W. (World Outreach Without Words). Ministries that sponsor international missionaries as well as churches engaging in short term international missions trips can participate in W.O.W.W. by requesting either online downloads or DVD’s. The deadline to register is May 1. For more information about how to participate in W.O.W.W., visit the website.
