Church of God Northern New England Conducts Chaplaincy Seminar

The Northern New England Regional Office conducted a Community Service Chaplaincy Training Seminar in April 2014. Chaplain Jake Popejoy, International Director of CSC Training, was the instructor. There were thirty-six individuals that successfully completed the course and received their certification. There were sixteen pastors out of the 36 that participated. Bishop Dennis Page said, “We are very excited to hear that many of these individuals have already applied for positions in communities all across Northern New England to serve as Community Service Chaplains. We believe that this will make a tremendous impact on the churches and communities in our region. Our vision for this ministry is to continue to train pastors, church leadership and laity in all levels of CSC certification.”

The Church of God Chaplains Commission recently appointed Mike Horton, pastor of the Faith Temple Church of God in Belfast, Maine, as the Regional Coordinator of Community Service Chaplaincy Training for the Northern Atlantic Seaboard. He also serves as the Northern New England Regional Coordinator.
