NorthRidge Church Opens Fourth Location
Renovations have already begun on what was formerly known as Riverpointe Christian Church. Nestled in the center of Grosse Ile’s charming community, the property is being transformed into the fourth location of one of the Midwest’s largest churches.
In late 2013, NorthRidge answered Riverpointe’s request to discuss their church’s future. After a series of meetings, a few visits to the Plymouth location and a vote by members, the papers were signed and the property became part of NorthRidge. The Grosse Ile location, located at 24200 Meridian Rd., will open its doors to the surrounding community on Sunday September 7 for an 11 a.m. service… just in time for the new series “Origins.”
“Every team is working to spruce up the building and make it ‘NorthRidge relevant,’ but the truth is, the Church isn’t a building or property; the Church is the people,” Senior Pastor Brad Powell explained. “Right now there are five churches on Grosse Ile for approximately 12,000 residents, but 80 percent of them go to no church at all. As more young families move in, and the community continues to grow, we have the opportunity to make a real difference.”
With its main location at 49555 N. Territorial Road in Plymouth, Michigan, NorthRidge Church is a non-denominational ministry that serves approximately 20,000 southeastern Michigan residents. Senior Pastor Brad Powell has led the congregation for the past 24 years. NorthRidge offers six services each weekend; four at the Plymouth location and one at each of their satellite locations.
