Star-Spangled Sunday Is September 12
Did you know that America has seen darker days in the past than those we are facing right now? Two hundred years ago we were in the midst of the War of 1812. Americans, struggling once again to keep their independence, were in dire straits. Then God intervened and a series of events occurred that saved America and led to the writing of the Star Spangled Banner.
This year America is celebrating the 200th Anniversary of our National Anthem. Few citizens have ever heard the story of how God used ordinary Christians to do extraordinary things during the desperate days of 1814. But on September 14th, we will tell that story as it’s never been told before with Star Spangled Sunday, a live nationwide simulcast. Join thousands of churches and Christians in homes across America for this special event on the 200th Anniversary of the song that became our National Anthem. This event is hosted by Family Research Council and Vision America, participants will be challenged not only by the story behind the Star Spangled Banner, but also by speakers who will challenge us to renew our spirit of patriotism:
• Tony Perkins, President, Family Research Council
• Dr. Rick Scarborough, President, Vision America
• Honorable Mike Huckabee, Host of Huckabee and former Governor of Arkansas
• Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas)
• Steve Green, President, Hobby Lobby
• Anthony Hahn, President and CEO, Conestoga Wood
• Dr. Mark Harris, Senior Pastor, First Baptist Charlotte
• David and Jason Benham, Founders, Benham Companies
