Operation Compassion Receives Large Donation for One Million Child Initiative
As Operation Compassion has been moving forward with the One Million Child Initiative, critical supplies and materials from valued corporate partners have been received. One of the largest donations of tile was offered in the past few days.
The tile is vitally important because it is used for flooring and walls alike. Building ministry centers, dormitories, churches and homes for the poor would be almost impossible to complete without it. In addition to the tile, grout and adhesive were received to finish the projects.
While Operation Compassion is always looking for new and continued donations, this week brought a big surprise. A large, unexpected donation of toys was received from manufacturers in China. These toys are designated for third world children in need of Christmas.
“Operation Compassion has been working hard to help children and families better their lives around the world and in the United States,” said Operation Compassion Director Dave Lorency. “Many of these children and families find themselves either caught by the never ending cycle of poverty or because of natural disasters. Many of them will only need assistance for a short period of time and some only once or twice. However, many families will need help for a much longer period of time. With the increased giving in the U.S. and toys for children overseas, Christmas will be a happier time for many.”
With help from supporters, Operation Compassion, an independent benevolent ministry with roots in the Church of God, can continue receiving products to help make a difference in many lives. Over one million pounds or 30 semi-trucks of life-sustaining supplies were shipped this past week alone.
