Recently, Bishop Glen and Susie Anniskette were asked to minister at an unusual place – a large local distribution company called Fokus in Goiania, Brazil. The invitation came from Marlon Vasconcelos, a local pastor and manager at Fokus. Pastor Marlon asked the Anniskettes to come and lead a devotional for his employees before their work day began. You don’t hear of these types of invitations much in America.
The pastor met Glen, Susie and their interpreter, Viviane Donizete in town that morning and led them to the factory. He told them that his boss had sent out an email encouraging every worker to come to the devotional even if they weren’t Christians. Susie was asked to sing a couple of songs. A keyboard was brought out placed on a table.
She sang Norman Hutchin’s, “Nobody but You, Lord” (Ninguem alem de ti, Senhor) and “Faithful” (Fiel) by Hezekiah Walker. The response was overwhelming. The morning devotional was turning into a worship service.
Glen preached and Viviane translated his words into Portuguese. His topic was on team work and included the salvation message. Glen prayed a general prayer for the employees and then gave a call for those who would like to accept Jesus into their lives. Five raised their hands and prayed the sinner’s prayer. Hallelujah!!!
A large man approached Glen at end of the service and said (through the interpreter) that Glen (who is only 5’ 6”) was a big man. Viviane said he meant that Glen had a lot of love in his heart.
Deus e Fiel (God is faithful) was written in public places all over the city of Goiania. Susie said, “God is moving in this city and it was great to be a part of what He is doing in it!”
