Five U.S. Groups Commit to Pray for Nigeria’s Elections
Further to our fervent need to uphold Nigeria and its general elections coming later in the month into God’s hand, the Christian Association of Nigerian-Americans, CANAN, is partnering with several other leading US-based groups to pray.
In addition to CANAN’s earlier announced prayer meetings by all its local chapters on March 15, the National Secretariat of the association will also be collaborating with the African Strategic Leadership Prayer Network, ASLPN, The Praying Army, Wailing Women Worldwide and the US/Canada chapter of Nigeria Prays.
This five US-based Christian groups will offer concerted prayers concerning the Nigerian Elections and the Boko Haram Terrorist activities, that have killed, kidnapped destroyed and displaced so many Nigerians and is a constant threat to the Nation, particularly Christians.
THE METHOD:
We are inviting the participation of Churches, Ministries, Families and Individuals to join together in prayers every Saturday leading to the Elections
DATES-
Every Saturday in March
(March 7th, 14th; 21st and 28th).
TIME:
10:00PM- 11:00 PM (ET)
9:00PM-10:00PM (CT);
7:00 PM -8:00 PM (PT)
FACILITATION:
These set of prayers using the same prayer points, will be jointly facilitated by the groups, including Prayer Leaders from the Wailing Women, a group that draws prayer warrior from about 70 nations of the world.
FASTING
We also encourage participants who can, to fast during this period, and call for Divine intervention in the Nigerian Nation to address the elections and other ills of the nation: corruption, bad governance, kidnappings, Boko Harm, disunity-in and out of the Church, etc.
All Nigerian churches and pastors are also being humbly requested to announce this prayers on the phone, in the churches, and also raise prayer points during the Sunday service of March 15 that God’s will be done in Nigeria and that there shall be peace before, during and after the elections scheduled for March 28 and April 11.
CANAN as a group is not endorsing any candidate or party, but is committed to the advancement of democracy in Nigeria. As a group, we are also advocating for a free and fair elections to be held in line with the provisions of the Nigerian constitution.
