Pentecostal Theological Seminary Graduates First Ever LEAD Certificate Graduates
At its recent spring graduation ceremonies, Pentecostal Theological Seminary recognized the first ever cohort of LEAD Certificate graduates.
All from the Church of God in Eastern North Carolina, the thirty-four strong cohort of ministers received their Certificates in Leadership Enrichment and Development, along with others who were receiving diplomas for both master’s and doctoral degrees.
This first cohort was able to complete their studies together in just under two years.
Administrative Bishop O. Wayne Brewer noted “by completing the certificate program in under two years, the final course of the six courses is effectively free of charge…which is a major incentive to students.” Eastern North Carolina’s choice was to have Pentecostal Theological Seminary professors come onsite to the state for greater enhancement of the classroom teaching/discussion/Q&A atmosphere. The program can be used for simple enrichment or to assist those needing to finish up on pre-seminary, bachelor’s level qualification (in preparation for entering a Master’s Degree program at PTS). The courses offered have a wide variety of topics including “Making Pentecostal Disciples.” “Utilizing Scripture in the Life and Ministry of the Church”, “Conflict Management and Resolution,” “Preaching and Worship in Psalms,” “Biblical/Contemporary Applications of Pentecost” and many other offerings.
Dr. Ron Cason, director of the program at PTS said, “Our ministers absolutely loved the program because it was both richly theological and practical at the same time…and the professors were fantastic presenters.”
