Women in Ministry Conference Begins August 20
Cleveland, TN–Church of God women ministers from across America will gather next week at the Dixon Chapel of the North Cleveland Church of God to be inspired and informed, and to engage in sessions designed for “Affirming ONE Another.”
Registrants thus far are coming from as far away as Long Beach, California and Wasilla, Alaska. Dorothy Sibley, wife of Assistant General Overseer Wallace J. Sibley, and Myrlene Cossey, wife of USA Missions Executive Administrator James E. Cossey, will serve as conference hosts.
“The conference is not just for women preachers,” stated James Cossey, “but is for youth and children’s pastors, counselors, ministers of music, teachers, wives of pastors and evangelists, and wives of state and international office leaders…any women who engage in any and all areas of Christian ministry.”
The conference format will consist of three worship services—Thursday and Friday nights and Saturday morning, and four specialized sessions beginning at 7:00 pm on Thursday and concluding around 12:30 noon on Saturday. The designated speakers are:
Thursday night service: Evangelist Jacque Smith
Friday morning special session: LaQuita Propes
Friday morning English breakout session: Janice Hill
Friday morning Spanish breakout session: Persi Moran
Friday night service: Pastor Blanca Lutty Giron
Saturday morning open forum (Moderated by Pastor Sue Webb) with Dr. and Mrs. Mark L. Williams, General Overseer and First Lady.
Saturday morning service: Evangelist Jamie Massey.
Door prizes will be awarded in each session. The grand prize (an iPad Mini, compliments of Tennessee State Women’s Discipleship Department) will be awarded just before the final benediction on Saturday.
The online preregistration price of $49 per person will expire at midnight Friday, August 14, 2015. Online preregistration is available at www.usamissions.com. After Friday, walk-on registration only will be available at the door for $59 per person.
“This conference which was planned BY women, and FOR women, promises to be one of the most edifying conferences we’ve ever sponsored in USA Missions,” Cossey stated. “Dr. Sibley and I will be there to direct traffic, run errands, and do whatever our wives tell us to do. But we will be in the background, because this is a ‘women’s conference.’ So far, the oldest woman registered is 84, and the youngest is under 30. We are praying that God will raise up a new generation of godly women ministers to help evangelize the harvest of these last days.”
