Over 300 Cities to Protest Planned Parenthood on Saturday, August 22
There will be a public witness and prayer vigil at the new proposed Planned Parenthood abortion center in Washington, D.C. on Saturday at 1225 NE 4th St. from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Pro-life leaders will also be having a news conference to share their goal of defunding and replacing Planned Parenthood at 10:00 a.m. especially in light of the upcoming Congressional budget battles.
The first part of the morning will begin at 9:00 a.m. showing the graphic images of abortion victims. After the 10:00 a.m. news conference, there will be time of prayer for the ending of abortion.
These protests are the outgrowth of recently released Planned Parenthood expose videos showing the abortion provider trafficking in aborted baby body parts and showing a complete disregard for their women clients. Also, it clearly demonstrates that the American public is growing increasingly tired of the violence of abortion.
Lauren Handy, a protest organizer, states;
“All eyes are on Washington, D.C. to see what action is taken against Planned Parenthood trafficking in aborted baby parts. However, it is not enough to defund Planned Parenthood, it is time to defeat America’s abortion giant. We are joining with tens of thousands across the nation to turn our outrage into action.”
Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, comments;
“The expose videos of Planned Parenthood reveal in their own words and actions what we have known about them for years. That is, they have no regard for the dignity of innocent children or their mothers.
“Words cannot express the shock and sadness one feels when they see Planned Parenthood’s Senior Medical Director sipping wine and chomping on her salad while she discusses how to get more livers from aborted babies.
“It is clear, that if we want to be a truly caring and compassionate society, we must defund Planned Parenthood and end the violence of abortion in our nation. We must also work and pray to ensure that no Planned Parenthood abortion center opens in Washington, D.C.
“Our prayer is that one day abortion will end up on the scrapheap of history like segregation and slavery and that, as a people, America will embrace the ideals of justice and equality for all.”
