Operation Compassion Gives Updates of S.C. Disaster Relief

Operation Compassion, an independent benevolent organization with roots in the Church of God, has been steeped in disaster relief efforts in the flood-ravaged towns of South Carolina.

Over the last several days, Operation Compassion has provided the following:

• Delivered 10 semis to South Carolina local Churches of God with three more staged and ready to ship (total of 13 semis)
• Delivered six semis to Church of God non-profit partners who will expand the impact of the Church of God in South Carolina
• In cooperation with ministry partners, six additional semis were delivered to the community at large, hospitals, shelter sites
• Partnered with Ministry Partners and Army National Guard for delivery by large trucks and helicopters to remote areas
• Through partnership with the Church of God, Operation Compassion provided a total of 25 truck loads of aid to the South Carolina flooding disaster.

Operation Compassion was able to provide the services through donations from churches and individuals, a $10,000 donation from Church of God International Offices and financial partnership with the South Carolina Church of God.

However help is still needed, according to president of Operation Compassion, Dave Lorency.

“Operation Compassion is dependent upon donations to fund this benevolence outreach,: Lorency stated. “OC’s weekly budget of $55,000 includes salaries, rent of warehouse space, cost of product, insurance, etc. So that we can be prepared for the next disaster, please consider a donation today.”
