National Week of Repentance Begins on April 3
The National Week of Repentance, a grassroots movement born out of a Pennsylvania pastor and radio host’s burden for our nation, calls Judeo-Christian individuals, families and houses of worship to humble themselves in prayer, genuine confession, apologies, forgiveness and true repentance—instead of pointing accusing fingers at each other and at Washington. April 3-10, Godfactor Founder and Grace Fellowship Lead Pastor Michael Anthony will launch the national event from his vibrant, faith-filled church in York, PA, where more than 400 people have made decisions to follow Christ as savior in the last three years. For details, visit online at www.revivalmatters.com.
Everyone, everywhere, is encouraged to get involved by producing “It is Time” selfie challenge videos on social media, downloading free action guides and by participating in live-stream broadcasts of Michael teaching in-depth messages and practical application to help people repent wherever they are. Despite the much-debated political platforms of our Democratic and Republican presidential candidates, Michael Anthony decided to examine his own life, family, marriage and church to indicate where change should begin in America.
“Real revival starts with each of us,” says Mike. “2 Chronicles 7:13-14 makes it clear that true revival and spiritual awakening are the greatest need at this key time in America’s history and future. It’s a burden of mine and I feel it’s absolutely urgent!”
It all started in 2015 when Mike became discouraged with all the complaints about our nation’s moral decline, racial unrest, financial collapse, fear, hatred and void of leadership—mere symptoms he associated with a larger spiritual problem plaguing our nation’s soul. Then, in the absence of a clear call to action, he felt burdened to search the Bible for solutions and was led to launch the National Week of Repentance and solemn assemblies, according to Joel 2 in the Old Testament of the Bible.
“We’ve lost our way,” says Mike. “Our nation is a collection of broken things—lives, families and houses of worship. It’s time for healing restoration and genuine spiritual awakening.”
Michael began preaching on a train station platform in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the result of deep personal trauma that nearly undid him. Michael’s comeback story also involves four near-death experiences—including a triumph over cancer in 2009. Also, as a child, he was nearly kidnapped three times.
Michael and his wife, Janet, co-founded Godfactor.com. Michael received his B.A. in English from -Rutgers University, and graduated from Moody Graduate School in Chicago (ASP) and at Multnomah Biblical Seminary in Portland, Oregon (M.Div.). He has preached the Gospel on four continents, visited over twenty countries, and is an avid revival historian.
