Empowered21 London 2016 Ends, New Spiritual Chapter of Europe Begins
London–An event-filled three days came to a climax last Friday night with the closing service of Empowered21 Europe Congress broadcast to millions in the United Kingdom, Europe and Africa on Trinity Broadcasting Network United Kingdom (TBN-UK).
While final figures are not yet available, attendance for the May 11-13 event was well over 1,500 with over 46 nations represented. Delegates came from as far away as New Zealand, Nepal and Egypt and included several Asian nations such as Singapore and China.
Held at the Ruach City Church in the historic Gaumont Theatre, thousands passed through the doors to hear a packed slate of speakers, teachers and ministers who have traveled from around the globe at their own expense to further the mission of Empowered21, which in part seeks to help shape the future of the global Spirit-empowered movement.
Hundreds crowded the Ruach lobby in anticipation of the 7:00 p.m. concluding service. Featured speakers included Sammy Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Leadership Conference. His message inspired the delegates to seize the mantle that is waiting for them.
“If you have pushed the plow, broken the ground and sown the seed, get ready, there is a mantle to come upon you,” Rodriguez said. “I feel lead to tell you that you are about to occupy the very area that hell has fought to keep you out of.”
Dr. Billy Wilson, president of Oral Roberts University and co-chair of Empowered21, closed out the 2016 E21 gathering with a message that traced the history of revival and the Pentecostal movement in Europe. He described the biblical way warriors prepared their shields, and the importance of oil in the process.
“Oil was a critical part of the process,” Wilson stated as he cited exemplary scriptures from Isaiah and Psalms. “Oiling the shield, or anointing it (NIV) strengthened the shield and protected the warrior. When we have faith, God will anoint our shield….God wants us not to have passive faith, but an aggressive faith…an anointed shield is a united faith…an anointed faith is a resilient faith!”
Wilson concluded with an invitation for everyone in the house to be anointed with oil for service in the Kingdom. Leaders of E21 formed lines on both sides of the church as hundreds passed through for the anointing.
“When you have spirit-empowered Christians from over 46 nations come together in unity there is an unmistakable power and atmosphere shift,” said Ossie Mills, Executive Director of Empowered21. “We believe that, from this historic event, spirit-empowered leaders will rise up, proliferating the Holy Spirit in Europe and beyond.”
