Dr. David Jeremiah: “You Must Vote”
Dr. David Jeremiah, founder of Turning Point Radio and Television Ministries and senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church in San Diego, told his congregation during last week’s sermon that the Supreme Court has become the biggest issue of the 2016 presidential election.
Noting that America is a “nation of laws, not a nation of dictators,” he said the current Supreme Court justices, by virtue of their lifetime appointments, “wield more power than most of the kings and dictators in this world.” He said evangelicals must exercise their right to vote in November, and they cannot allow their reservations about particular candidates—a thinly veiled reference to GOP presidential nominee-in-waiting Donald Trump—to prevent them from going to the polls.
“We should know better,” he said. “We tried this approach in 2012 when 25 million evangelicals who were registered to vote did not take the time to do it. The difference in the 2012 popular vote was less than five million votes.”
“You must decide who you think will appoint the best justices for the Supreme Court,” he said. “Then whatever else you may think of that person, you must vote.”
