Leadership 2016 Set for September 14-16; Portions to be Livestreamed

]Cleveland, TN–State and regional administrative bishops, youth and discipleship directors, and leaders of ministries at the international offices are set to gather in Cleveland at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, North Cleveland Church of God, and International Offices Conference Center on September 14, 15, and 16. The theme of the event is “Leadership Renewal for the FINISH Commitment: Investing, Empowering, Advancing.”

Leadership has for years been a vital component of training veteran and newly-appointed leaders in the Church of God. New state overseers are the first to arrive and attend an intense, all-day orientation on Wednesday. The training will be conducted in the Leadership and Communications Conference Center. Hosting the state overseers and their spouses for lunch that day will be General Overseer Tim Hill, Lee University President Dr. Paul Conn, and their wives. The lunch will be followed by a tour of the new $10 million School of Nursing, which opened last month for Lee students.
All Leadership delegates will gather on Wednesday evening for the official opening session. Entitled “Investing in Leaders,” the session will feature special music from the Voices of Lee and The Talleys. Featured speaker will be Rev. Kenneth Ulmer. The entire service will be broadcast via livestream at www.churchogod.org.

On Thursday all delegates are scheduled to attend a morning session featuring messages from Tim Hill and author Haydn Shaw, who will speak on “Next Generational Leadership.” Working lunches are scheduled for state overseers, youth directors and women’s discipleship leaders. Afternoon sessions for these groups will include legal issues, banking, property and church planting.

An evening session for women in the Dixon Chapel at North Cleveland Church of God will be entitled, “Faith, Fire, and Freedom,” with special music from Jihan Cox and speaker Beth Stephens. State overseers and youth directors will complete Thursday’s events with a session on the FINISH Commitment.

On Friday, September 16, the Leadership meeting wraps up with a morning session entitled, “Advancing Great Commission Leaders.” Rae Orozco will address the topic of multicultural ministries. At noon, members of the Executive Committee will host their Covenant Ministry Teams at four separate luncheons, while General Overseer Hill will host members of the Administrative Ministries Council (International Offices directors and coordinators), as well as all state youth and discipleship directors and their spouses.

The closing session on Friday night will also be livestreamed on the Church of God website. Special music will be offered by Larry Ford and the Lee University Singers, followed by a closing challenge from General Overseer Hill.
