Kentucky Elects Seventeen Church Planters onto State Elected Council and Boards
The ministers of the Church of God in the state of Kentucky met November 4, 2016 for their biennial meeting at the state campground in Lexington.
According to Administrative Bishop Bruce Rabon, the Order of the Day included voting for the Kentucky State Council, the State Youth and Discipleship Board and the State Missions and Church Planting Board “MCP” (formally the USA-Missions Board).
“Realizing that church planting is part of the Bluegrass state’s surviving and thriving strategy, the ministers of Kentucky agreed that at least five of the nine ministers elected on the state Missions and Church Planting Board must be ‘Church Planters,’” Rabon explained. “When the voting for the MCP Board was complete, eight church planters had been elected, however six church planters were also elected onto the State Council and three church planters were elected to the State Youth and Discipleship Board; for a total of seventeen church planters being elected on the Kentucky state council or boards.”
Rabon further reported that the first chairperson of the Kentucky state MCP board is Pastor Paula Farmer and sitting next to her will be Pastor Janice Claypoole.
