McClung to Address European Leaders at World Missions Congress
Dr. Grant McClung, President of Missions Resource Group (www.MissionsResourceGroup.org) and International Missionary Educator with Church of God World Missions, will bring the opening plenary address to the Pentecostal European Mission (PEM), convening in the week of October 15 – 20 in Madrid, Spain. He will assess “Global Missiological Challenges Toward 2020 and Beyond.” PEM is a broad coalition of Pentecostal missions leaders in Europe and Eurasia, meeting annually for consultation, peer resourcing, and strategic planning.
McClung will be accompanied by his wife, Janice, who leads the World Missions Prayer ministries at the Westmore Church of God in Cleveland, Tennessee. The McClungs are former field missionaries in Europe, later serving as the denominational Field Director for Europe and the Middle East. He is a former member of the Church of God International Executive Council (2006 – 2010).
The meeting will be held concurrently with the World Missions Congress jointly sponsored by the World Missions Commission of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship and the World Missions Commission (WMC) of the Pentecostal World Fellowship (PWF). McClung represents the Church of God as a member of the Executive Committee and Missiological Advisor to the WMC – composed of world missions executives from the major Pentecostal organizations, networks, and affiliate associations. The leadership of the WMC has helped organize similar missions leaders networks in Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
“The Pentecostal World Fellowship,” McClung notes, “is one of the oldest and largest cooperative global networks in the Pentecostal movement. From its inception, the PWF has emphasized the stated vision of being a coalition of commitment for the furtherance of the gospel to the ends of the world.” The next international gathering of the PWF will be held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on August 27 – 30, 2019 (www.25pwc.org) McClung and the WMC Executive Committee will be meeting in early 2019 to finalize the program for the World Missions Leaders Forum in Calgary.
