Liberty Counsel Expands DC Ministry
Liberty Counsel has expanded its reach in Washington, D.C. by adding Faith & Action and the National Pro-Life Center to the family of ministries. Faith & Action has been a ministry in the nation’s capital since 1994. With the transition of the ministry to Liberty Counsel, Faith & Action is being renamed to Faith & Liberty.
Faith & Liberty is a Christian missionary and spiritual outreach in the nation’s capital to all three branches of government. Faith & Liberty is located directly across from the U.S. Supreme Court, a block from the U.S. Capitol, and minutes from the White House.
The mission of the National Pro-Life Center is to give national policy makers, including the federal judiciary and their staff, the information, education, and inspiration to support the sanctity of human life.
Key staff members as well as the values, focus, and programs that have made Faith & Liberty and the National Pro-Life Center so significant in the nation’s capital will continue with the goal of expanding the impact and effectiveness of these strategic ministries.
Peggy Nienaber, who has been with the former Faith & Action ministry for 15 years and on Capitol Hill for 28 years, will be Vice President of Faith & Liberty. Patty Bills will also continue to serve in the ministry. Greg Cox, who has been with Liberty Counsel for several years, and who worked with Faith & Action since its founding, will bring his years of experience to bear for Faith & Liberty.
Faith & Liberty and the National Pro-Life Center compliment Liberty Counsel’s other ministries which include: (1) Liberty Counsel Action, a ministry focused on education and public policy, which is also located in Washington, D.C. not far from the Faith and Liberty building; (2) Liberty Prayer Network, an international prayer ministry; (3) Liberty Relief International, an international humanitarian ministry to persecuted Christians; (4) Christians in Defense of Israel, an education and advocacy ministry centered around Israel and the Jewish people; and (5) Covenant Journey, a ministry to Christian college-age students who have leadership potential, designed to strengthen their Christian faith and support of Israel.
Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said, “The Liberty Counsel team is excited to add Faith & Liberty and the National Pro-Life Center to our family of ministries. These two ministries not only complement what Liberty Counsel is currently doing regarding religious freedom, the sanctity of human life, the family, and Israel, but it also undergirds our strategic efforts with essential prayer and spiritual ministry on Capitol Hill. We are excited about the expanded opportunities in our nation’s capital,” said Staver.
Liberty Counsel is an international nonprofit, litigation, education, and policy organization dedicated to advancing religious freedom, the sanctity of life, and the family since 1989, by providing pro bono assistance and representation on these and related topics.
