Virtual Chaplaincy Course Receives High Marks
Cleveland, TN–Over the last few weeks, thirty-three students from around the US and Canada successfully completed Level 1 and Level 2 Community Service Chaplaincy (CSC) training through the Church of God Chaplains Commission.
Led by Drs. Richard and Brenda Pace, the annual summer session was unique this year in that the class was the first held entirely via Zoom.
“These students were amazing, signing in from different time zones to join together and learn about Chaplaincy through virtual instruction,” said Dr. Brenda Pace. “That meeting via ZOOM did not keep this group from experiencing meaningful conversation, keen insight from one another, and ministry of the Holy Spirit. The challenges of COVID have not kept people from using this unique time to prepare their hearts and minds for ministry outside the walls of the church.” The Paces said the experience teaching online was a great benefit, as they have taught students around the world via distance learning models for years.
Samuel, a student from Canada, shares, “The Chaplaincy course was food for the soul! The course is practical, interactional, and empowering. It has not only informed me but has also shown me a way of life that will impact and benefit society for the good! For anyone who is considering chaplaincy, Dr. Richard and Brenda are excellent teachers and carry God’s heart. I highly recommend everyone to take the course!”
For anyone contemplating chaplaincy ministry, but haven’t found training courses nearby, this could be the course to consider. Through ZOOM, participants can take this course from anywhere over the Internet.
The next Level 1 Community Service Chaplaincy training course is scheduled for September 23-25, 2020. Additionally, those who sign up for Level 1 and 2 at the same time will have one year to complete Level 2.
