‘The Return’ National Day of Prayer and Repentance on September 26
Thousands of pastors, Christian leaders and believers are preparing to attend the “The Return: National and Global Day of Prayer and Repentance.” The event is being called “an invitation to all Americans to turn from sin back to God through prayer and repentance.”
COVID-19 seemed to be a divine pause, and the nightly riots that followed, have served to rekindle the desire of many to ask God about the future of our nation. “The Return” is designed for Americans to get honest with themselves and the God of their forefathers.
Pastor Kevin Jessip is joined by New York Times bestselling author Jonathan Cahn in hosting the event, which is both time-place and virtual, being livestreamed across the nation and around the world. The Christian community of America is being asked to humble themselves in repentance and pray for a national spiritual awakening. The live event will be on the Washington Mall, between the Washington Monument and Capitol Hill. Coordinated events will also take place throughout America’s cities, towns, houses of worship and homes.
The main event will be September 26, from 9 am to 6 pm with a Celebration Event that evening, from 6 pm to 9 pm. A Next Gen event will take place on Friday night.
P. Douglas Small, Church of God Prayer Coordinator will be one of the participants at the event, sharing the stage for a time of prayer with Stephen Strang, of Charisma Magazine.
Small was the author of the Solemn Assembly materials used by the Church of God and other denominations, and this is considered, a national call to Solemn Assembly, an opportunity for the American church to consecrate herself through personal repentance and to position herself to be used by God.
Those not able to attend the event can connect at www.TheReturn.org or call **pray (**7729) to register. Follow “The Return” on social media at Facebook: @ReturnEvent2020; Twitter: @2020_Return; and Instagram: @The_Return2020.
2020 is the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrim’s journey to the new land abroad the Mayflower. It recalls the Mayflower Compact and God’s destiny for the nation – a destiny now at stake.
Kevin Jessip, organizer of the event noted, “Without revival, America and its future will be lost, therefore, we have a window of time we may never have again.”
Among the Christian leaders attending the event are: Kevin Jessip and bestselling author Jonathan Cahn (co-chairs), Mike Lindell, Michele Bachmann, Pat Boone, Dr. James Dobson, Mark Gonzales, Robert Morris, Marcus Lamb, John Kilpatrick, Pierre Bynum, Gen.
