SMCH Centennial Celebration Goes Virtual

Sevierville, TN–The Smoky Mountain Children’s Home (SMCH) will officially turn 100 years old on December 17, 2020. For several months, the children’s home had been planning creative ways to celebrate this momentous occasion during a year marked with the ongoing pandemic. With heartfelt concern, SMCH has made the difficult decision to not move forward with an in-person celebration. Dr. Walt Mauldin, Executive Director, stated the following:

“With the most recent increase in Covid-19 cases throughout the United States, we have made the decision to host a VIRTUAL CENTENNIAL CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION on Thursday evening December 17 at 6:00 pm. The virtual presentation will be posted via video on the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home Facebook page. Dr. Tim Hill, general overseer of the Church of God will be sharing a Centennial message, along with musical guests Steve Allen and the Westmore Choir. We will present a Centennial Video and share the many aspects of the past 100 years of ministry.”

“We hope everyone will plan to join the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home Facebook VIRTUAL CENTENNIAL CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION on Thursday evening December 17 at 6:00PM,” Mauldin concluded.
