Blairs Inducted into PTS ‘Hall of Prophets’
San Antonio, TX–On Tuesday, March 15, at the Church of God Leadership Focus Conference convening in San Antonio, TX, Dr. David C. And Janet Knight Blair were inducted into the Pentecostal Theological Seminary (PTS) Hall of Prophets (HOP).
According to guidelines established by PTS, the Hall of Prophets is, “one of the most significant and prestigious means of recognition for Pentecostal ministers whose ministry has been distinctive, honorable, noteworthy and meritorious.” Induction provides a funded endowed scholarship for deserving PTS students.
In his presentation at the Focus conference, Dr. Michael Baker, President of PTS, said, “Rarely, has the Church of God experienced the loss of a standing elected executive. As gifted leaders, the Blair’s served the Church of God with excellence as state director of youth and discipleship in Arkansas, Kentucky, DelMarVa-D.C., and South Georgia.” Blair was elected by the Church of God General Assembly as the International Director of Youth and Discipleship in 2016 and passed away on March 21, 2021, while serving in the office.
Among family members attending the ceremony were Blair’s widow, Janet, their daughter Brittani, son Bruce and daughter-in-law, KaLea, as well as Blair’s father, Charles Blair.
David and Janet Blair’s contribution to the development of programs and ministries benefitting youth goes beyond serving as International Director. They were instrumental in the founding and perpetuation of the popular Winterfest annual youth events, which have impacted thousands of youth across the country for more than 35 years.
“David’s ministry legacy will live on in the lives of so many he touched for Christ in the Spirit and power of Pentecost,” Baker concluded.
