Summer Camp Meeting Schedule Released
For the first time in two years, most Church of God summer camp meeting events are scheduled to take place in the traditional sense. As the nation emerges from what is hoped is the last vestiges of the Covid-19 pandemic, states and regions have released plans for a more inclusive and “normal” camp meeting season.
2022 will be unlike 2020 when virtually all camp meetings were cancelled, and last summer when there was a mixture of services depending on a number of factors. The five members of the Church of God Executive Committee are each assigned a number of camp meeting destinations and represent the Church of God International Offices through greetings and/or messages during the week.
The traditional format of Church of God camp meetings consisting of a single morning Bible teacher and evening speaker for a week-long celebration has changed over the last few years. The 2022 schedule reveals a majority of meetings that are two or three-night events and multiple evening speakers are the norm. All but seven camp meetings are set for the month of June, with one (upstate New York) holding their camp meeting the week of July 6-9. East Central Hispanic will be the first camp meeting on April 29-30, while Alaska is conducting their camp meeting the following week on May 3-6. The Romanian region will not hold camp meeting until November.
A schedule of camp meetings across the nation and Canada which lists the locations, dates, speakers, and Executive Committee representatives has been posted on churchofgod.org. Anyone interested in obtaining more information of a particular camp meeting should contact the state/regional office.
