Operation Compassion, Abundant Life Partner in Distribution
San Antonio, TX–Four hundred San Antonio families witnessed benevolence on display as relief boxes filled with household products and non-perishable food items were distributed in San Antonio as part of the Church of God International General Assembly.
Operation Compassion, an independent benevolent agency with roots in the Church of God, hosted a community event on Thursday, July 28 in partnership with the Abundant Life Church and Restoration Ministry on the west side of San Antonio in the parking lot of the Promesa Charter School and Life Restored Ministries.
“Abundant Life’s heart of compassion has blessed the community with over 1 million boxes of food in its twenty years of service to the community,” said Operation Compassion director Kelvin Page. “They are one of the largest faith-based benevolence ministries in San Antonio area.”
“When a major freeze hit the area, along with Operation Compassion Abundant Life was able to offer assistance to families that were affected by this once in a generation disaster,” Abundant Life Pastor Eliezer Bonilla stated. “With the help of Operation Compassion we were able to meet the needs of many families during this disaster.”
Bonilla concluded, “As the General Assembly gathered this week, the Church of God reached out to San Antonio with arms of love and compassion to families and needs as the church not only worships, but also ministered to its needy.”
