Conference Targets Christian Communicators
What started as an online conference for Christian communicators during the 2020 COVID-19 shutdown is now an annual event. DigitalMediaCon, version 3.0, returns on October 25 to 27 with 15 new educational sessions focusing on digital communications and e-marketing. DigitalMediaCon brings together 10 Christian media associations, partnering to provide training for digital content creators.
Sessions will cover topics such as social media, audience engagement, podcasting, website design, video capture, SEO, best practices for email, and e-book publishing.
The keynote speakers are Ed Stetzer, Jen Bennett and Erick Goss.
Stetzer is a professor and dean at Wheaton College, where he also serves as executive director of the Wheaton College Billy Graham Center. He has recently been named editor-in-chief of Outreach magazine.
Bennett, Professor of Strategic Communications at Indiana Wesleyan University, has amassed a huge social media following as host of the She Impacts Culture podcast. She is the author of the book #BeWorthFollowing: How to be Different and Influence People in a Crowded Social World.
Goss serves as the CEO and co-founder of Minno, a faith-based kids’ media and tech company. A former senior manager with Amazon, he led the creation of Amazon’s first e-book business, print-on-demand, Super Saver Shipping, the Amazon Credit Card, and oversaw North American book buying.
While most sessions will be live-streamed daily from 12:00 to 3:30 p.m. ET, all sessions will be recorded and available on-demand to registered attendees through Dec. 31. An additional nine “Best of 2021 DigitalMediaCon” sessions will be available on-demand.
The virtual event is produced by the Evangelical Press Association (EPA) with the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) as co-presenter.
Participating media organizations include the Associated Church Press (ACP), Baptist Communicators Association (BCA), Christian Authors Network (CAN), Canadian Christian Communicators Association (CCCA), Christian Indie Publishing Association CIPA), Christian Newspaper Association (CNA), Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) and Magazine Training International (MTI).
