Church of God Indiana Launches Assembly Prayer Campaign
Indianapolis, IN—Anticipating the upcoming 79th International General Assembly, the Church of God in Indiana has undertaken a Pre-Assembly Prayer Initiative in the host city of Indianapolis.
Launched on Thursday, February 23, 2024, during the Indiana Prayer Conference, the movement is being led by Indiana Church of God State Administrative Bishop Barry Clardy and chair of #WePrayIndiana, Pastor Jerry Ballard. The Prayer Conference was conducted at the Lawrence Church of God.
“Almost 100 pastors and laity joined for a time of intercession and declaration through prayer as we prepare to host the General Assembly,” Clardy stated. “We are inviting the Church of God family to join with us as we continue this Pre-Assembly Prayer Initiative on the last Thursday of every month beginning in March and concluding in June.”
The on-site prayer time will begin on March 28 at 10:00 a.m. EST in the lobby of the JW Marriott hotel in downtown Indianapolis, proceeding to the site of the General Assembly, the Indianapolis Convention Center, for one hour of prayer and intercession. Successive Thursdays are April 25, May 30, and June 27. The JW Marriott is located at 10 S. West St., in Indianapolis.
“Prayer is essential to the success of all aspects of our upcoming General Assembly,” Clardy continued. “It is imperative that we make prayer the priority as we prepare to host the presence of God and welcome our Church of God family to Indiana, the crossroads of America.”
Those who cannot attend on site are encouraged to pray at a dedicated time on the dates listed, joining together for prayer and intercession for the upcoming Assembly, which will take place July 8-12, 2024.
Clardy said, “It is my prayer that we will have an encounter with God and a fresh impartation of the Holy Spirit that will empower the Church of God for the days ahead.”
