New Series from ‘The Chosen’ Lands Funding for First Season

THE PROMISED LAND, a new comedy series of Biblical proportions based on the book of Exodus and featuring cast and crew from The Chosen, begins filming season one in October 2024 after securing $5 million in funding for production.

The pilot episode debuted on YouTube on July 1 and has already received 572,000 views, and that number is growing significantly daily. The YouTube page went from a handful of subscribers to more than 61,000 subscribers almost instantly following the debut, with 5.7 million impressions. THE PROMISED LAND pilot episode has been viewed in 138 countries worldwide with the top 10 being: U.S., Canada, India, South Africa, Australia, United Kingdom, Philippines, Nigeria, Brazil, and Indonesia.

The comedy series has the full support of The Chosen creator and director Dallas Jenkins. “The world needs a show like this. Seriously,” Jenkins said.

“Our goal is to make the Bible relevant and fun to generations that grew up with Michael Scott and Leslie Knope on TV,” said Mitch Hudson, writer and director of THE PROMISED LAND. “While this is a comedy, we have been diligent to keep the Biblical material sacred.”

THE PROMISED LAND stars Wasim No’mani as Moses, Shereen Khan as Miriam, Majed Sayess as Aaron, Brad Culver as Korah, Dav Coretti as Chisisi, Tryphena Wade as Zipporah, Artoun Nazareth as Joshua, and Tucker Smallwood as Jethro.

In addition to Hudson, the producing team includes Executive Producer Brent McMinn, and producers Richie Johns (founder, Studio 523), Jeremy Crouch (Lek Productions), Bob Elder (founder / CEO, Collide Media Group), and Justin Tolley (Producer, The Chosen season 1).
