‘Third Pentecost’ Symposium Set for October

Cleveland, TN—A three-day event, the Third Pentecost Symposium – Pentecost Again! will convene in Cleveland, Tennessee, on October 23-25, 2024, at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary (PTS).

According to Dr. Michael L. Baker, president of PTS, the event will be three days of anointed ministry, teaching, discussion, prayer, and worship, co-sponsored by PTS and Gereja Bethel Church in Indonesia. Other partners include North Cleveland Church of God, Westmore Church of God, South Cleveland Church of God, and Lee University, along with the Church of God International Offices and other Pentecostal denominations.

Organizers of the event describe that the first Pentecost took place in the upper room in Jerusalem when Jesus spoke this prophetic promise to His disciples in Acts 1:8:

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Scripture goes on to describe what happened next, as they obediently waited on this promise for ten days in unified prayer, praise, and worship. Acts 2:4 tells us that “the Holy Spirit came into the room with a sound like a mighty rushing wind, tongues of fire rested upon their heads, and they began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance.” This group of 120 were empowered to begin the task of the Great Commission and became global witnesses for Jesus Christ. That day in the streets of Jerusalem, people from all over had come to observe the Feast of Pentecost and they heard the gospel preached in their languages. Three thousand were saved when Peter preached, and the Lord added daily to their number. The journey to complete the Great Commission had begun.

The modern-day Pentecostal movement was birthed during the Azusa Street Revival in the early 1900s under the leadership of an African American preacher named William Seymour. The Azusa Street Revival – the Second Pentecost – was a multiracial spiritual center where all ethnicities, rich and poor, gathered to worship and receive the Holy Spirit outpouring together. Salvation, healing, miracles, gifts of the Holy Spirit, and missionary endeavors were all fruits of this Second Pentecost Spirit outpouring at Azusa Street. Several major Pentecostal denominations trace their roots to the Azusa Street Revival. The message and experience of Pentecost was carried around the globe, and today some 650 million people embrace the experience of the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

The Third Pentecost movement was birthed out of a prophetic word given to Pastor Niko Njotorahardjo, founder and senior pastor of Gereja Bethel Indonesia church, and founder and president of Healing Movement Ministry in Asia. In this prophecy, God called Pastor Niko to be the messenger of the Third Pentecost and promised an “Azusa anointing” that would cross the globe from East to West. Signs of the times point us to acknowledge the vital spiritual importance of Pentecostal power to touch the world with the gospel – The Third Pentecost.

According to organizers, the Third Pentecost Symposium is intended to be. “a gathering of Pentecostals from around the world dedicated to initiating an Upper Room movement by igniting the Pentecostal fuse of praise, worship, commissioning, and global harvest – Pentecost Again!” The event will feature worship experiences, dynamic prayer, generational blessing, and messages from Dr. Niko Njotorahardjo, Church of God General Overseer Dr. Gary Lewis, and former Church of God General Overseer Dr. Tim Hill as well as breakout sessions and plenary sessions with speakers during the day Thursday and Friday. Everyone is invited.
