Ministry of Evangelism Conducts ‘December to Remember’
Cleveland, TN–December to Remember, a conference for evangelists / revivalists, convened just five months after the establishment of the Church of God Ministry of Evangelism at the International General Assembly last July.
Led by Director Sean O’Neal and Assistant Director Scott Sheppard, designated national evangelists, the Church of God Evangelist/Revivalist Task Force, and invited Next Gen evangelists gathered for the inaugural event at the International Offices Leadership and Communications Center on December 6 and 7.
“The December to Remember Conference has a brilliant and creative stalwart event established for more than 30 years,” stated O’Neal. “In the new launch of evangelism ministry in the Church of God, we envision embracing and encouraging evangelists. The December to Remember Conference consisted of four emphases including spiritual encounter, encouragement, equipping, and examining the present and future of the role of the evangelist in the 21st century.”
This pilot weekend conference was planned with the goal of an outcome to provide the analysis and framework for understanding the office and ministry of the evangelist in the modern era. Additionally, the analysis envisioned to bring forward dynamic thinking of what evangelist ministry can be and the how to of evangelist / revivalist ministry as culture and church continue to change.
In addition to O’Neal and Sheppard, the weekend included training and impartation from Dr. Gary Lewis, General Overseer; Dr. Tony Stewart First Assistant General Overseer; Dr. Douglas Small, President of Project Pray; Rev. Larry Lane, Senior Fellow for Project Pray; Dr. Aaron Jones, Ministry of Evangelism Personal Evangelism Coordinator and consultant; Evangelist Dr. Michael Ball; and Evangelist Bishop George Moxley.
